Count Mariah Carey out for the final-season “American Idol” reunion.
The pop star and one-time “Idol” judge does not have fond memories of her single season on the show, which was marked by a ginned-up feud with fellow judge Nicki Minaj.
During a radio interview in Australia, Carey says “Hell no” to a question about whether she’d be part of any final-season celebration on the FOX series.
“Absolutely not,” she says. “That was the worst experience of my life.”
She also says her beef with Minaj was manufactured: “I don’t think they had any intentions for us to have a good experience doing that show,” she says. “Pitting two females against each other wasn’t cool. It should’ve been about the contestants instead of about some nonexistent feud that turned into even more ridiculousness.
“I would never want to be involved with it again, but everybody else can like it.”
