Looks like the tape-delayed airing of the Olympics isn’t the only thing to get the #NBCfail hashtag during the 2012 Summer Games. One of the network’s announcers during the gold-medal men’s basketball match between Spain and the United States on Sunday (Aug. 12) seemed to mistake Jesse Eisenberg, the actor who played Mark Zuckerberg in “The Social Network,” for the Facebook founder himself.
“I know I’m gonna put that picture on Facebook,” announcer Bob Fitzgerald says as the camera stops on Eisenberg. “We’ve got every executive of note, it seems, worldwide, attending these Games.”
While Zuckerberg wasn’t the one caught on NBC’s camera, a topless image of the Facebook exec is making the rounds on the Internet. TMZ reports that the caption with the shirtless pic, which surfaced on image-sharing site imagur, suggests that Facebook Director of Engineering Andrew Bosworth accidentally posted the pic publicly only to remove it shortly afterward.
