Tennis legend Martina Navratilova has one more reason to celebrate the 2014 U.S. Open. It’s also the place she got engaged longtime girlfriend Julia Lemigova on Saturday, Sept. 6.
It happened in the Tennis Channel suite at the event, with the crowd watching it unfold on the big screen. As Navratilova got down on one knee with a smile on her face, Lemigova happily accepted the proposal.
“I was very nervous,” she tells CBS Sports. “It came off. She said yes. It was kind of an out-of-body experience. You’ve seen people propose at sporting events before, in movies, in real life. Here it was happening to me. It was like I was watching myself do it.”

TV words to live by: "I'm a firm believer that sometimes it's right to do the wrong thing."
