Maryjblige_americanmusicawards07_240 Mary J. Blige is next in the ever-growing lineup of celebrities guest-judging on “American Idol” in Paula Abdul’s departure.

According to People’s TVWatch, singer Mary J. Blige will join judges Randy Jackson, Kara DioGuardi and Simon Cowell for the Atlanta auditions. The show heads down south after they wrap up in Boston, where Victoria Beckham is currently judging with them (and sporting some wacky fashions).

A source close to the show told People, “The judges and production team have been having a lot of fun with

Victoria. She’s had a great response so far, and

has been really warm with the contestants.”

I’m sure Mary J. Blige will be great, I actually like her better than either Beckham or Katy Perry, another rumored guest judge. I think Mary J. will help the judges not try to squash another Lil Rounds into the Whitney Houston Box.
