Gordon Ramsay is putting home cooks into the kitchen and turning up the heat.

The chef’s latest culinary competition show “MasterChef” premieres Tuesday, July 27 at 8 p.m. ET, following his other FOX show “Hell’s Kitchen.”

On the show, everyday people with a knack for cooking participate in a challenges to prove they’ve got the recipe for success: a good palate palate, gastronomy knowledge, drive and skills to win $250,000 and publish their own cookbook.

But first, they must get on the show, and that means a scary audition process in which they must cook a meal for the three judges: Ramsay, Graham Elliott Bowles and Joe Bastianich.

Watch three chef wannabes present their dishes and the judges’ varying reactions. We’re particularly entertained by Suzette James’ tilapia fish tacos with mango salsa presentation. Is she flirting with Ramsay using soccer double entendre? Goal!!!!!

Just in case you want to see exactly what they’re eating, here’s her recipe with a bonus dessert.

4 pan-seared tilapia filets
1 lemon, zested and juiced
6 limes, zested and juiced    
1 bunch of cilantro, minced
1 bunch of green onion, minced
1 head of red cabbage, shredded
5-6 medium tomatoes, scoop out middles and then dice
2 large shallots, minced        
3 garlic cloves, pasted    
2 sliced large avocados    
3-4 mangoes, diced        
1 warmed bag of frozen corn        
1 package of herbed goat cheese, crumbled    
1 package of warmed corn tortillas
1 cup of heavy whipping cream, whipped
1 cup powdered sugar, blended
1-2 packages blackberries


Make corn salad by adding corn, tomatoes, cilantro, lime zest, 1/2 lime juice, and 1/4 tsp salt, and 2 shallots. Combine and fill inside hollowed tomato shell. Top with goat cheese. Make mango salsa by combining mangos, tomatoes, cilantro, green onions, and 2 cloves of garlic, salt and olive oil to taste. Pan-sear Tilapia 3 – 4 minutes and side with seasoning and olive oil. Create fish taco with steamed tortillas, Tilapia, red cabbage, and mango salsa. Serve with sliced avocados.

Dessert: Fresh cream with 1/2 lemon juice, lemon zest, and powdered sugar. Serve with mango slice and fresh blackberries.
