FOX loves “MasterChef Junior” so much that the network is giving the cooking competition a Season 3 renewal before production even begins on Season 2.
“‘MasterChef Junior’ has proven itself to be the little show with a big bite — so big, we’ve picked it up for a third season,” says FOX executive vice president for alternative entertainment, Simon Andreae, “It’s incredible to see how unbelievably creative and skilled kids can be in the kitchen — some before they’ve even learned how to spell what they’re cooking! We can’t wait to meet the talent that our judges discover in the next two cycles.”
Hosted and judged by Gordon Ramsay, Joe Bastianich and Graham Elliot, “MasterChef Junior” pits kids — ages 8 through 13 — against each other in challenges meant to show their culinary ability and range. The results were nothing short of amazing in Season 1.
During that first season, the show averaged 5.1 million viewers and ranked number-one in Adults 18-49 in its time period. Production on Seasons 2 and 3 of “MasterChef” will begin in the spring of 2014.
