As we count down to the 2014 Emmy Awards, Zap2it is taking a closer look at each of the lead acting nominees for comedy and drama — and judging them not by their best work, but by some of the more dubious credits on their IMDB pages. So we ask you: Based on what you’re about to see, would you give this person an Emmy?
Between “Friends” and “Episodes,” Matt LeBland has been nominated for a total of six Emmys. Now, he’s heading into the 2014 Emmy Awards in hopes of his first win for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for “Episodes.”
Perhaps there are some roles he’d rather be forgotten, though. Believe it or not, one of Leblanc’s earlier TV credits was on “Married … with Children,” playing Vinnie Verducci, a boyfriend of Kelly’s. As you can see by the clip below, it’s might not be award-worthy material.
It was definitely popular enough with someone to earn a spinoff, though. LeBlanc took the character to “Top of the Heap,” which only lasted seven episodes before it was spun off again as “Vinnie and Bobby.” Sadly, that also only lasted seven episodes.
What do you think? Is LeBlanc’s work as Vinnie Verducci worthy of an Emmy? Vote in the poll below.
