While Michaels writes in a poem that the burning was an accident, she says, “That kid has insane pain tolerance/His tender flesh to the nicotine pencil on fire/So fast, so quick, he insisted it didn’t hurt.”
Michaels says that the incident happened while she was outside smoking a cigarette and her son snuck up from behind her. She adds, “I alerted his other mother immediately, because/It’s the right thing to do/No matter how embarrassing.”
Etheridge and Michaels are in the midst of a nasty custody battle over their twins. Michaels has reportedly asked for a significant bump in her $23,000 per month child support payments. She’s also requesting that Etheridge pay her $120,000 legal bills.
