The AP reports Locane was driving under the influence of alcohol when she plowed her SUV into another vehicle, killing a woman. The 40-year-old actress was acquitted of aggravated manslaughter.

Amy had claimed the fault for the accident belonged to another driver who was pursuing the actress, as well as the husband of the deceased victim, who purportedly made a “slow turn” in front of Amy.

At the time of the accident, Locane’s blood alcohol level was almost three times the legal limit.

Upon her conviction, Locane’s bail was revoked and she was put behind bars. She faces five to 10 years in prison, in addition to three to five years for a charge connected to the injuries suffered by the husband of the dead victim.

Along with “Melrose Place,” Amy’s credits include “School Ties,” Cry-Baby” and a guest appearance on “Touched By An Angel.”
