Country legend Merle Haggard is being treated at a Macon, Georgia hospital for an undisclosed illness, reports the Associated Press.
A Columbus, Ga., concert was canceled just seven minutes before Haggard was scheduled to go onstage, reports the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer. Apparently weekend dates in Columbia, S.C., and Macon, Ga., were also canceled because of the illness.
The AP reports that Haggard, 74, has been sick since leaving his home in Northern California last week.
Haggard’s best-known song is “Okie from Muskogee.”
His next scheduled show is in Paducah, Ky., on Thursday.
