When a former “Real Housewives” star and a musician are set to tie the knot, what is the next logical step? To televise it, of course. But not on something as mundane as a regular channel. Pay-per-view, baby.
Michaele Salahi, formerly of “The Real Housewives of D.C.”, and Neal Schon of Journey are getting married live in San Francisco on Dec. 15 and are broadcasting it via pay-per-view — “Winter Wonderland Wedding and Music Event” at the Palace of Fine Arts.
“We searched the world for the perfect location, and finally I said to Michaele, ‘San Francisco is my home. Now it is our home. I want to be married there, in the most beautiful city in the world, to the woman of my dreams,” says Schon in the press release.
Schon also says that instead of letting a network tape, edit and broadcast the wedding as part of the beginning of a reality series about their lives — as they said a few months ago, it’s “best to protect [their] love from reality TV” — they decided they wanted to share the whole thing live directly with their fans instead.
The live event will be hosted by Debbie Matenopoulos, Cameron Mathison, and Karyn Bryant, with a portion of the proceeds from the pay-per-view going directly toward typhoon relief in the Philippines. Journey has already given $350,000 to typhoon relief efforts.
And of course, the legendary band will be performing at the wedding.
“This is truly my dream wedding,” says Michaele. “I am so excited to share this incredible day with my best friend and the love of my life. My heart and home is wherever Neal is.”
The big event kicks off at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on Sunday, Dec. 15 and runs for three hours. The suggested retail is $14.95. Check your local listings to get in on the fun.
