mickey mouse donald duck animated disney cartoon 'Mickey Mouse' reinvented yet again in Disney's new animated shorts
Mickey Mouse has more looks than Madonna, and Disney isn’t done retooling the Mouse and his friends for the too-old-for-“Mickey Mouse Clubhouse” audience. A new short-form series of 2-D, old-school Mickey Mouse cartoons debuts on Disney Channel on Friday, June 28 at 8:30 p.m. with two more episodes following consecutively on Saturday, June 29, and Sunday, June 30.
Disney touts this version as a throwback, bold design, much like the classic 1930s Mickey, with backgrounds in a 1950s/60s style. And according to Disney, true fans will be able to find hidden icons from other Disney classics in the cartoons as well.
These new Mickey shorts are aimed at 6-14 year olds, but following in some of the most popular Disney shows, adults will probably find them amusing as well. The cartoons have a good tween-focused production team behind them too, including Paul Rudish (“Star Wars: The Clone Wars”, “Dexter’s Laboratory”), as well as Aaron Springer (“Spongebob Squarepants”).
New shorts will debut with Friday premieres starting on Friday, July 5. Episodes will also be available online through WATCH Disney Channel, Disney.com, the Mickey Video Player App, and iTunes.
