Miley Cyrus is all growns up and all growns up. If you don’t believe us, just listen to her new single.
The 17-year-old Disney Channel star is proclaiming her independence with “Can’t Be Tamed,” the first song from her new album. She released it on her MySpace Music page on Friday (April 30), and the video will premiere Tuesday, May 4 on E! You’ll have to wait to buy the single until May 18; her album, also called “Can’t Be Tamed,” goes on sale June 22.
]]>“For those who don’t know me I can get a bit crazy/Have to get my way, yep/24 hours a day/’Cuz I’m hot like that.”
“I go through guys like money flyin’ out the hands/They try to change me but they realize they can’t/And every tomorrow is a day I never plan/If you’re gonna be my man understand/I can’t be tamed.”
She even (gasp!) swears. Sort of — there’s also a lyric where she says “I’m not here to sell ya/or tell you to go to hell.”
In case you’re wondering what the song’s message is, her label provides the following helpful explanation: “‘Can’t Be Tamed’ is a self-empowering song in which Miley asserts that she has to stay true to herself in relationships.” Thanks, Hollywood Records! Listen for yourself:
So what do you think of the song? Is the world ready for a grown-up Miley?
