galliano portman gi Natalie Portman 'shocked and disgusted' by John Galliano comments; Dior officially fires designerJohn Galliano might want to start looking for a new gig pronto, as Dior decided to part ways with their chief designer permanently.

Galliano was suspended from the fashion house after allegedly assaulting a couple in Paris and using anti-Semitic remarks last week and was officially let go on Tuesday (Mar. 1).

“In light of the deeply offensive statements and conduct by John Galliano in a video made public [Monday], Christian Dior has commenced termination procedures against him,” a statement reads. “We unequivocally condemn the statements made by John Galliano which are in total contradiction to the longstanding core values of Christian Dior.”

One person bound to be pleased by this decision, is Miss Dior Cherie spokes model and Academy Award winner Natalie Portman.

The 29-year-old also released a statement expressing her displeasure with the designer.

“I am deeply shocked and disgusted by the video,” she says. “In light of this video, and as an individual who is proud to be Jewish, I will not be associated with Mr. Galliano in any way. I hope at the very least, these terrible comments remind us to reflect and act upon combating these still-existing prejudices that are the opposite of all that is beautiful.”

Quick, someone come up with a fashion equivalent to “The Beaver.” It might just be Mel Gibson’s time to pay it forward.
