courteney cox big joe National Drink Wine Day: Our favorite TV and movie wine osIt’s National Drink Wine Day! Hooray!

While we will be celebrating accordingly with a nice glass (okay, maybe a bottle or two) of Pinot Grigio, we figured it’s only appropriate to take a cue from some of our favorite TV and movie wine-os.

The cast of “Cougar Town” has given us many things to be thankful for: Penny-can, the movie-mashup game and most importantly, it shows us that it’s okay to guzzle wine at any occasion.

So who can possibly one-up our favorite boozin’ crew?

The “Real Housewives” franchise, of course.

Ramona Singer took it one step beyond drinking and created her own line of Pinot Grigio so we can all enjoy “Turtle Time” any time. The pop-culture, reality TV and wine addict within us would now like to offer our deepest thanks to Ramona for making this possible.

Singer is hardly the first to use reality show fame as the launching point of a wine. Bravo’s “Top Chef’s” are known for having a swig or two while working, and the franchise even debuted it’s own line of vino called “QuickFire.” Of course before “TC,” “Iron Chef” had already branded a line of estate bottled wines themselves.

The cast of “How I Met Your Mother” doesn’t typically discriminate when it comes to alcoholic beverages, but during Laura Prepon’s stint as Karen (Ted’s ex-girlfriend), Ted turns into a giant wine snob. Come on Ted — we all enjoy a good glass of wine every now and then, but when there’s Franzia to be drunk, well, somebody’s gotta do it.

How could we even begin a wine-os list without including the film “Sideways?” Paul Giamatti‘s character, Miles, can’t get enough when it comes to Pinot Noir, though Merlot he could do without. Amidst less than stellar love lives, the film follows two friends through California wine country so naturally there’s plenty of vino to be had.

Chris Pine‘s 2008 flick “Bottle Shock” goes a semi-classy route, following the true story of the infamous 1976 Parisian wine tasting that put Napa Valley on the map. We’re getting thirsty just thinking about it… It doesn’t hurt that watching “Bottle Shock” while sipping on some Chardonnay is probably the closest we’ll ever get to having a drink with Pine. Woe is us.

Who would you like to ring in this very special occasion with? Despite our love for the “Bottle Shock” star, we’ve still gotta give this one to the “Cougar Town” cast. We just want to be part of the cul-de-sac crew!
