There are several original “Heroes” cast members returning to “Heroes Reborn,” but there are also some fan-favorites who aren’t joining the revival series.

Creator Tim Kring tells Entertainment Weekly that Hayden Panettiere, Ali Larter, Adrian Pasdar, Milo Ventimiglia and Zachary Quinto are among those that will not be participating in the upcoming series. It was already known that some of these actors would not be back, but Kring says definitively that there won’t be any more casting announcements.

“Everybody who’s coming back has been in the press,” says Kring. “We have a cadre of characters from the previous that will make
appearances — some bigger than others, some just in a cameo way. It will
be an interesting use of the older characters.”

Kring does say it’s certainly possible a cast member could change his or her mind about returning, but as of now, the cast is set. There are six returning cast members, plus nearly a dozen new faces. The full cast list is below. Zap2it will update this post as more news develops.
Returning cast
Greg Grunberg as Matt Parkman: Originally introduced as a detective on the LAPD, Parkman discovers he can read the minds of others and manipulate their thoughts. In the series finale, he was injured when attempting to kill Sylar (Zachary Quinto).
Masi Oka as Hiro: The former office drone turned hero had the ability to stop time and time-travel. Last seen helping defeat Samuel Sullivan (Robert Knepper) at the end of “Heroes.” Oka says in a statement he’s excited to reprise his role but details are being kept under wraps.
Jimmy Jean-Louis as The Haitian: An associate of Noah Bennett throughout the series, The Haitian — the only name he’s known by — has the ability to manipulate minds and memories.
Jack Coleman as Noah Bennet/HRG: The Company man and adoptive father of Claire (Hayden Panettiere) also took part in bringing Samuel down at the end of “Heroes.” He had hoped to cover up what happened but was heartbroken when Claire exposed her powers to the world.

Sendhil Ramamurthy as Dr. Mohinder Suresh: This geneticist spent the original “Heroes” trying to understand these evolved humans and what connection they had to his father’s murder.

Christine Rose as Angela Petrelli: The ambitious, villainous Petrelli matriarch who has the ability to see the future and the past in her dreams, will appear in a guest-starring capacity.

New cast
Zachary Levi: The former “Chuck” star will be playing a signficant role, but just what that is remains to be seen.
Other new cast members include Dylan Bruce (“Orphan Black”), Ryan Guzman (“The Boy Next Door”), Robbie Kay (“Once Upon a Time”), Danika Yarosh (“Shameless”), Judith Shekoni (“The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2”), Kiki Sukezane (“Death Yankee 3”), Henry Zebrowski (“A to Z”), Gatlin Green (“Criminal Minds”), Eve Harlow (“The 100”) and Toru Uchikado.
The story
So far, NBC and creator Tim Kring have said exactly nothing about where the show picks up, although it’s understood that it will include stories of new characters discovering their abilities. Also, maybe it’s cold?

The premiere date
“Heroes Reborn” will air Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC, though a specific fall 2015 premiere date has not been set.
