Author Dan Brown, the man behind “The Da Vinci Code” and “The Lost Symbol,” has a new novel coming out in May 2013, featuring the protagonist from those previous two novels, Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon.
The novel is titled “Inferno,” the author revealed via a mosaic on his website and on “Today.” Brown writes on his website that the book “is set in Italy and centers on one of history’s most enduring and mysterious literary masterpieces, Dante’s ‘Inferno.'”
“Although I studied Dante’s ‘Inferno’ as a student, it wasn’t until
recently, while researching in Florence, that I came to appreciate the
enduring influence of Dante’s work on the modern world,” writes Brown. “With this new novel, I am excited to take readers on a journey deep
into this mysterious realm…a landscape of codes, symbols, and more than a
few secret passageways.”
