News broke Wednesday (Sept. 14) that a new book about Sarah Palin, former Alaska governor and possible 2012 presidential candidate, is coming out soon, and it paints a less-than-flattering picture of her life before she was governor, including allegations of cocaine use and extramarital affairs.
Sarah’s husband Todd Palin has fired back at author Joe McGinniss in a statement:
“This is a man who has been relentlessly stalking my family to the point
of moving in right next door to us to harass us and spy on us to
satisfy his creepy obsession with my wife. His book is full of disgusting lies,
innuendo, and smears. Even The New York Times called this book ‘dated,
petty,’ and that it ‘chases caustic, unsubstantiated gossip.'”
Smart move, having her husband respond. Not only does it give weight that the affairs allegations are untrue, but it also makes the book less important to not have Palin herself respond.
“The Rogue: Searching for the Real Sarah Palin” hits shelves Sept. 20. What do you think about all this, Pop2it readers?
