Former Disney star and future president (we’d vote for him) Nick Jonas made his debut on Tuesday night as J. Pierrepont Finch in Broadway’s “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.” The role was recently vacated by “Glee” star Darren Criss and, before him, “Harry Potter’s” Daniel Radcliffe.
It’s certainly not Nick’s first run on Broadway, though. He began his career on the stage, playing Gavroche in “Les Miserables,” Chip the teacup in “Beauty and the Beast,” and Little Jake in “Annie Get Your Gun.”
We’re pretty sure he’ll have an easy time filling Criss’ shoes.
Nick is contracted to play Finch until July 1, but his older brothers and bandmates Kevin and Joe — as well as little bro Frankie, of course — didn’t wait to check out his performance. The Jonas Brothers reunited backstage to support Nick on opening night.
“Wow! @nickjonas and the cast of How to Succeed killed it tonight. I couldn’t be more proud of Nick,” Joe tweeted later. As for Kevin, he and wife Danielle showed their support by dressing their dogs as Finch. Seriously.
When it comes to an actual reunion, music-wise, Nick tells Parade that the boys are taking their time. “We have been in a different season as far as doing things on our own and
really loving those opportunities to have the opportunity and the time
to do those things that we’re passionate about as individuals,” he says.
Don’t fret, JoBros fans — they’re brothers, so this isn’t like that time Justin Timberlake said he was taking “a little time” away from *NSYNC to do a solo album. “There will come a time when we decide we want to jump back in
and make another group record and tour for our fans,” Nick says. “But we’re going to
take our time and make sure that all the pieces are right and everything
is where it should be. There will definitely be a time when we will do
