After an almost nine-day absence, Nicki Minaj has rejoined Twitter and is already swiftly building back up her Barbz — aka her followers. When she quit on April 15, Minaj walked away from 11 million fans. As of this writing, word of mouth about her return has got the “Beez in the Trap” singer back up to 224,605 followers.
Minaj quit Twitter on April 15 after she discovered fans were leaking her music online. Though, she says, that’s not why she quit.
“A voice in my head told me to delete my Twitter and that’s what I did,” she said on the U.K.’s “Graham Norton Show.” “I had 11 million followers and I hope they will wait for me.”
Minaj was well within the 30-day grace period she had to return to her abandoned Twitter handle before it was released for use by someone else.
