nicolerichie 290 Nicole Richie is living the sitcom life at ABCNicole Richie may be headed back to your television screen, this time with a script in hand.

The former star of “The Simple Life” is attached to star in a comedy pilot at ABC. She would play a woman sorting out her professional life and a set of difficult relationships with her family, Variety reports.

Richie herself describes the show this way on her own site: “The story revolves around a young, modern and professional woman who must balance her business and family relationships. She must deal with, and navigate the many ideas of what a woman’s role is: modern vs. traditional.”

She conceived the idea for the show and will receive a producer credit on the pilot. Daisy Gardner, who’s worked on “Californication” and “South Park,” is writing the script, and Warren Bell (“Ellen,” “According to Jim”) and Jamie Tarses (“My Boys”) will executive produce.

Richie has a handful of acting credits on her resume, most recently a fairly well-received guest spot on “Chuck” last season. She’s also guested on “8 Simple Rules,” “American Dreams” and “Eve.”

The show is in the early stages of development and hasn’t received a pilot order yet.
