When Zap2it visited the actor on the Hawaiian set of “Off the Map,” he gave us a little of what to expect from the rest of the of the freshman season, particularity concerning the matter of Tommy’s waning promiscuity.
“The Mean Streets of San Miguel” revealed Tommy’s growing feelings for Alma (Aimee Garcia), the local barmaid. And just because she has a boyfriend and doesn’t speak English, doesn’t mean we’ve seen the last of her.
“She’s around for a while,” says Gilford. “It’s cool to see him go through that process, where [before] any tourist who came in for the night, he was down to shower with.”
As for “Friday Night Lights,” his new gig has kept Gilford from watching the final season — but not in the way you might expect.
“Two of the producers love ‘Friday Night Lights,'” he says, “so as a ploy to get favors out of them, I’ve been having the DVDs shipped to me, and I’ve been giving them to them. They haven’t given them back to me yet. I think they’re probably leaking them on the internet.”
The next episode of “Off the Map,” “I’m Here,” airs Wednesday, Feb. 9, at 10 p.m. ET on ABC — right after the DirecTV broadcast of the “Friday Night Lights” series finale at 9 p.m.
