Legendary Oklahoma Sooners QB Steve Davis was one of two people killed in a plane crash on March 17. He was 60.

There were a total of four people total on the plane, Yahoo! Sports reports. The pilot reported electrical power problems on the plane as he attempted to touch down in Indiana. The plane actually did land on the runway at South Bend Regional Airport before going back up into the air and crashing into three nearby homes.

“It hit or grazed one house and then hit another one squarely and then embedded itself into a third house,” South Bend Police Capt. Philip Trent, tells The Chicago Tribune.

Passenger Wesley Caves also died during the crash, while the two other passengers were reportedly seriously injured. A woman who was in one of the houses was hurt, and the trio were taken to Memorial Hospital, Yahoo! Sports reports.

“I’m saddened by the loss of Steve Davis. Great role model for young people on & off the field. He was my 1st QB & had an outstanding career,” former Sooners head coach Barry Switzer tweeted.
