Did you have the tissues ready for Sunday’s (May 5) “Once Upon a Time” episode? Neal sacrificed himself to save Emma and in the process they professed their love for each other. So is Neal gone forever? We suspect he’s not. And while star Michael Raymond-James can’t confirm anything, he does tell Zap2it that Henry is the one thing giving Neal a sense of purpose.
“You’re talking about a guy who’s gone for a long time as a rudderless
ship, one adventure to the next … this is the first kind of thing that
really gave him the sense of family and direction and purpose,” says Raymond-James.
“Neal loves the idea of being a dad and wants to be the best dad that he
can be. He wants to prove to himself that he’s not his father. He’d move
heaven and hell to protect Henry. This is something that
he’s definitely jumped into with both feet,” he continues.
Should “Once Upon a Time” get a Season 3, we hope to see Neal reunited with Emma and Henry, but we also hope to see him reunited with his father, which might not be completely out of the question.
“I don’t think anything is too big [to overcome]. It’s a story about family and love, I think that there isn’t anything that’s too big to overcome,” says Raymond-James. “Maybe I’m wrong, but I want to believe eventually, given the right amount of time and the right amount of effort, that all those things can be overcome.”
Get ready for the “Once Upon a Time” Season 2 finale next Sunday, May 12 on ABC.
