Gawker (via JawWiredShut) points to a 2004 episode of his show, in which the all-knowing children’s show host points out that the sun hasn’t been rising in the proper constellations for some years now.
“I’m a Sagittarius,” he says. “So, on my birthday, you might expect the sun to rise in the constellation Sagittarius — and it did, 2,000 years ago, when the Babylonians made all this up.”
He makes no mention of “Ophiuchus,” but he does explain that the wobbling of the earth is the cause of this shift and it won’t be stopping any time soon.
“Astrologers are off one full sign,” he continues. “In 2000 more years they’ll be off two signs. But they don’t seem to care.”
Well, they do now.
