Oprah Winfrey may be Hollywood’s highest-paid woman but that doesn’t make her immune to a health issue that plagues women from all walks of life.
Per the New York Times, while speaking at the annual conference in October for O, The Oprah Magazine, Winfrey announced to the crowd of more than 5,000 fans that she had a breast cancer scare just the week before. The incident was a false alarm, but Oprah’s best friend, Gayle King, who was in the audience, became visibly upset at the news.
One woman in attendance chided Winfrey for not telling King about the health scare ahead of time and ordered Winfrey to apologize to her friend.
No word on whether she actually offered up an apology to King for keeping her in the dark.
