If you thought Oprah Winfrey appearing on every cover of “O” magazine was overkill, how about an Oprah show about another Oprah show?
When the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) debuts in January 2011, it faces a particular conundrum: How to create a show about Oprah that isn’t the same as her syndicated talk show, which will still be airing until September of that year?
Lightbulb moment: How about the reality series “Behind the Scenes: Oprah’s 25th Season” that’s all about the syndicated talk show’s final season? Yes, that’s so crazy, it just might work.
“Behind the Scenes” will be a weekly series that debuts in January 2011, reports the New York Times.
The paper also reports that OWN is planning an additional four unscripted series: “Kid-napped,” about kids who steal away their workaholic parents; “Miracle Detectives” about skeptics and believers; the women’s prison series “Sentenced” and “Search,” about a woman who finds missing persons.
