In a statement to E! News, the couple says they’ve been separated for several months:
In a joint statement, Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr have announced
that they have been amicably separated for the past few months. After six years together, they have recently
decided to formalize their separation. Despite this being the end of their marriage, they love, support and
respect each other as both parents of their son and as family.
While on “Live,” Bloom shared stories of taking his son, Flynn, to upstate New York where the 2-year-old boy was fascinated with whirlybirds (the seedlings that fall off maple trees).
Bloom also says that he’s been having so much fun on Broadway, where he has made his Great White Way debut in “Romeo & Juliet” — quite an iconic role to take on for his first time on the U.S. stage.
He relays a crack his mom made about the play — “It’s a monster of a play, it’s a wonderful play. My mom was like, ‘So, you decided to climb Everest on your first trip out, without oxygen.'”
“Romeo & Juliet” is on Broadway now. Coincidentally, its opening night on Sept. 19 was the last time Bloom and Kerr were photographed together (pictured above), but it sounds as though they were already separated at that point.
