osama bin laden getty 2 Osama Bin Laden had cash, numbers sewn in his clothes when Navy SEALS raided compoundOsama Bin Laden was reportedly ready (though apparently not ready enough) to flee at a moment’s notice before his death in a U.S.-led mission on Sunday (May 1). Politico.com is reporting that Bin Laden had 500 Euros ($740) and two telephone numbers sewn into the clothes he was wearing.

This information was reportedly shared with members of Congress at a classified (not anymore, eh?) briefing on Tuesday (May 3).

According to Politico’s report, CIA director Leon Panetta said Bin Laden believed “his network was strong enough he’d get a heads-up” before any U.S. strike against him.

The White House also released more details about the raid, including the fact that Bin Laden was not armed when U.S. Navy Seals entered his Pakistan compound.

It’s still unclear whether or not photos of a dead Osama Bin Laden will be released to the American public. According to ABC News, White House aides haven’t yet been able to agree on whether the pictures would do more harm than good.
