OWN has announced its programming lineup, which includes Oprah Winfrey‘s successful “Oprah’s Next Chapter,” in which she interviews celebrities, as well as a handful of new series.
First of all, “Oprah’s Next Chapter” will return with several upcoming guests. According to the press release, Winfrey will interview “Stephen Colbert from his hometown in Charleston, South Carolina, the legendary and larger-than-life Bette Midler at her home in New York City, singer/actress Jennifer Hudson in an intimate conversation about her life today, and actor Kelsey Grammer and his wife Kayte as they discuss their new marriage and parenthood.” Additionally, fans of “Oprah’s Lifeclass” will enjoy two special fall episodes Sunday, Sept. 2 and Sunday, Sept. 23 at 10 p.m. EST. “Super Soul Sundays” will return to Sundays at 11 p.m., and “Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s” is back for a second season on Saturday, Sept. 15 at 9 p.m.
As for new shows, author and speaker Iyanla Vanzant’s “Iyanla, Fix My Life” debuts Saturday, Sept. 15 at 10 p.m. “Iyanla is back, fixing lives and using her past to help others’ futures. Secrets will be revealed, truths will be uncovered and emotions will come out as Iyanla teaches us how to pull back the curtain on what is broken in our lives,” teases the press release.
Fans missing “The Oprah Winfrey Show” might enjoy “Oprah, Where Are They Now?” which premieres Tuesday, Oct. 2 at 9 p.m. EST. As one might expect, Winfrey will revisit some of the biggest headline-drawing guests of her former talk show. “TV Guide Magazine’s Top 25 Best Oprah Show Moments” will also appeal to fans of the show as it counts down her best shows on Tuesdays at 10 p.m. beginning August 28.
On deck for 2013 is a new show from La Toya Jackson, “Life With La Toya.” The press release describes it as such: “‘Life With La Toya’ gets up close and personal with La Toya Jackson as she juggles the many demands of her famous family, her life long friends, and her growing entertainment business empire. Known as the outspoken one, La Toya is so much more: the fun-loving aunt, devoted daughter, peacemakingsister and a woman looking for love, and maybe even a family of her own.”
Also in development are “The Customer is Always Right,” in which loyal customers advise CEOs on how to improve their brands, and “Neighborvention,” on which “one desperate family in crisis opens their doors and reaches out to their neighbors for a helping hand.”
