mike schur parks and rec 'Parks and Recreation' co creator Mike Schur has a new comedy in the worksTwo “Parks and Recreation” writers — including co-creator Mike Schur — are pitching a new comedy project to networks set in a place much larger than Pawnee, Ind.

Schur and “Parks and Rec” writer-producer Dan Goor have met with “multiple outlets” about the project. Vulture reports they’re pitching a comedy about police officers in one of New York City’s five boroughs. Goor and Schur will co-create and executive produce the new show for Universal Television.

So what does that mean for “Parks and Rec”? In the short term, probably nothing. Schur has said he wants to remain with the show until it ends — its fifth season kicks off Sept. 20 — and it’s hardly unusual for an exec producer to have more than one show on the air (see Lorre, Chuck; Rhimes, Shonda).

Goor has written several memorable “Parks and Rec” episodes, including “Harvest Festival” and “Li’l Sebastian.” Schur, in addition to showrunning, wrote the Season 4 finale “Win, Lose or Draw” and the “End of the World” episode from last fall.
