The “Spider-Man” reboot, tentatively scheduled for a July 2012 release, will see Peter Parker taken back to his early teenage years, battling girls, homework and finding his identity. The reboot began when the “Spider-Man” franchise director Sam Raimi bowed out of working on the fourth movie, even though stars Kirsten Dunst and Tobey Maguire had already signed on to it.

Lerman’s name has been bandied about for months. “There have been a few discussions, it’s definitely something I’m
looking into,” Lerman told “Access Hollywood” on Thursday, Feb. 4. “It’s one of my favorite characters ever and
I’m a huge fan of the series,” he added. “I’d love to have more
conversations about it. I’m definitely very interested in it.”

Lerman is best known for his role as the titular character in “The Lightning Thief,” but he also gave an excellent turns as Christian Bale’s son in “3:10 to Yuma” and Bobby McAllister in the TV series “Jack & Bobby.”
