As any “Game of Thrones” fan knows, death is just the name of the game. However, according to Peter Dinklage, that doesn’t mean he isn’t startled when some random person on the street tells him they hope he doesn’t die.

Dinklage, who plays Tyrion Lannister on the HBO hit, stopped by “The Daily Show” Tuesday (April 7) to promote the show’s fifth season. He told Jon Stewart about the time a woman gave him an ominous death warning on the streets of New York City.

And, for Dinklage, who wasn’t walking around thinking he was Tyrion, it was quite a frightening experience.

“A woman the other day said to me, ‘I hope you don’t die,'” says Dinklage. “I didn’t put it together because I was tired — I’m a wreck before my coffee — and it was so weird. It took me a second. It was so terrifying.”

Although Dinklage says he hopes he doesn’t die either, he does admit that, when it comes to “Game of Thrones,” that woman knows what she’s talking about.
“The thing is, she’s… right, because we all [die],” says Dinklage.
Season 5 of “Game of Thrones” premieres Sunday, April 12 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HBO.
