“American Idol” contestant Pia Toscano was on “The Today Show” Tuesday (April 12) to talk about her experiences on the popular singing competition show. She reiterated what she told us in her exit interview, “I had a feeling the night before … I said to my parents I think I’m going to be in the Bottom 3 tomorrow. It didn’t come as a shock to me when I was in the Bottom 3, but you never expect to get voted off so early.”
When pressed to talk about who votes, Pia says that “there are a lot of female fans that are voting for the boys, but you really don’t know and you just have to go out there very single week, give 110% and just be happy with your performance, that’s all you can really do.”
Meredith Vieira brings up that they’ve talked about changing the format – letting the public vote for the Bottom 3, then letting the judges pick who goes home. Pia says she can’t say if that would’ve saved her or not, but she does agree, “I think the judges should have a say.”
She also plays coy about her reported record deal. But we’re pretty sure she’s got one.
