While singer and actress Judy Kuhn is a multiple-time Tony Award nominee and a member of the original Broadway cast of “Les Miserables” who currently stars in “Fun Home,” there’s another role of hers that many will remember fondly. Kuhn is the original singing voice of the title character in Disney’s animated film “Pocahontas.”
The cartoon classic will be celebrating its 20th anniversary on June 23, and to mark the upcoming occasion, Kuhn shared a special treat with fans. Joined by “Fun Home” composer Jeanine Tesori on piano, Kuhn sings the movie’s signature song, “Colors of the Wind,” in six very different styles.
Covering a range that includes both reggae and an angelic chorus, Kuhn and Tesori show just how versatile the song is and have a blast doing it. Nothing’s quite as good as the original composition, though, which is how they end their performance.

Chris E. Hayner is equal parts nerd, crazy person and coffee. He watches too much TV, knows more about pro wrestling than you do and remembers every single show from the TGIF lineup. You may have seen him as a pro-shark protester in "Sharknado 3." His eventual memoir will be called "You're Wrong, Here's Why..." TV words to live by: "I'm a firm believer that sometimes it's right to do the wrong thing."
