Los Angeles police were called to assist Mischa Barton with what was described as a medical issue Wednesday afternoon.
According to Access Hollywood, police responded to a call around 3 p.m. at her home. A patrol car escorted Barton from there to an undisclosed location. And we're betting she didn't need a ride to the Beverly Center.
No comment from Barton’s rep yet.
But the web is abuzz with theories and a look back at her recent drug and alcohol issues.
Read more about that hot mess and Mischa's explanation about why she went to rehab ….
Barton was charged in February 2008 with four criminal counts related to a 2007 DUI arrest
Barton was charged with one misdemeanor count of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, one misdemeanor count of driving with a blood alcohol level of 0.08% or higher, one count of being an unlicensed driver and one count of possession of marijuana (28.5 grams or less).
In April 2008, the actress pleaded out the charges and received 36 months probation, alcohol education classes and a fine.
Oh, and a delicate slap on the wrist.
But that was just for show. Barton told Marie Claire’s British edition last fall that she went to rehab to get a softer sentence. She's not really an alcoholic. Seriously.
“I wanted to prove to the court that I would take it completely seriously, so I went to rehab to prove I was sober,” she said. “It really helped in getting the more serious aspects of my case dropped because, you know, that’s what they want to hear; you’re not an alcoholic and you don’t have a problem. So I did it in the most low-key way possible – I didn’t make a fuss about it and I didn’t tell a lot of my friends. I just did the program and got through it."
Well, that sounds promising for Miss Mischa's recovery, doesn't it?
