Oh, and then all of the electricity in New York state went out because of Nolan’s “Carrion” program and the Initiative.
Life is very complicated on “Revenge,” isn’t it?
The crazy started on “Engagement” in a rather typical fashion when Charlotte (Christa Allen) got herself arrested for public drunkenness. Considering her recent, acting-out behavior, this was really only a matter of time.
We got a slightly bigger surprise after Daniel (Josh Bowman) bailed Charlotte out of jail. When asking his sister why she was being so thoroughly self-destruction, Daniel received a bit of a bombshell: Charlotte is pregnant.
Is Declan (Connor Paolo) the father? Let’s just hope the answer is yes, or this particular shock is going to be even bigger than expected.
Speaking of shocks that were bigger than expected, how about that fight between Aiden (Barry Sloane) and Takeda (Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa)? Some form of confrontation had to happen between Aiden and his former mentor, but even on “Revenge,” we weren’t expecting swords to be involved.
And who would have thought Aiden could beat Takeda? This is certain to become even more problematic, considering that a) Aiden’s plans always fail, and b) Takeda was about to deal with something huge and Initiative-related that seems likely to just happen now.
Was that something the huge New York blackout? It does seem to be the Initiative’s fault that the electricity went out all across New York City and Long Island. Nolan (Gabriel Mann) identified the weapon as his own Carrion program, and the Falcon (rotting away in a prison somewhere) looked all cheerful about the sudden darkness.
All of these big shocks came in a roughly 10-minute span of time at the end of “Engagement.” This means that we have a lot of answers to look forward to as Season 2 of “Revenge” comes to a close.
