President Barack Obama is set to address the nation regarding the beheading of American journalist James Foley by extremist group Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). The video of Foley’s execution was uploading to YouTube Tuesday (Aug. 19), though it has since been removed.
Foley was first kidnapped in Syria in 2012. In the video, Foley’s captor says his death is due to United States intervention in Iraq, and they would kill another journalist they have captive, Steve Sotloff, if the U.S. didn’t respond.
President Obama is scheduled to deliver his statement at 12:45 p.m. ET/9:45 a.m. PT. You can watch it streaming live above.
