bryce johnson summertime pretty little liars 'Pretty Little Liars' Bryce Johnson: 'I'm a sunshine boy'Bryce Johnson makes his (hopefully) last appearance as Detective Wilden on “Pretty Little Liars” Tuesday (Aug. 3) in “The Perfect Storm.”

Why hopefully? Because if his new show “Lone Star” takes off, he will most likely not return to “Pretty Little Liars” — and the “Liars” crew wishes him the best of luck. But before Johnson left for Texas to start shooting his new show, we had to find out what his favorite summertime activities are.

Johnson tells Zap2it that despite his lack of attendance, he does love the beach. “I think I’ve been to the beach once in the last two years,” he laughs. “I’m going to try and go a lot more this summer.”

When pressed for the type of swimwear he favors, Johnson cracks, “I’m a new father, so I think I probably used to be a board short guy, but now I’ll be a mankini guy to embarrass my daughter.”

His favorite tasty treat in the summer is Pink Berry froyo — and he laments the fact that they now deliver.

“I’m like, ‘Great, now all I gotta do is make a phone call and they’re at my house in 20 minutes,'” Johnson laughs. “They just got rid of their pomegranate … but the good news is [they] replaced it with watermelon.”

As for his favorite summertime refreshment, Johnson reminds us all that sometimes lemonade or iced tea is fine, especially if you’re driving. “Be safe,” he says. But as for his alcoholic beverage of choice — “Summertime I’m definitely a beer guy, but who doesn’t love a margarita? If you really wanna get it going, you pull out the blender and do some margaritas.”

Assuming a deep manly voice, Johnson laughs, “I love just going to the store and gettin’ meat and throwin’ it on the grill.”

Watch Johnson as Detective Wilden on “Pretty Little Liars,” airing Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. ET on ABC Family.
