Time will tell if the new crop of designers on “Project Runway” are any good. But until the show premieres on July 29, all we have are names.
Fortunately, several of the names of this season’s contestants are kind of awesome. The designers include people named Mondo, Peach and Casanova — and the latter, a 33-year-old who lives in Queens, goes by just the one name.
Mondo Guerra, meanwhile, is a 36-year-old from Denver, and Peach Carr — which puts us in the mind of a pinkish-orange Caddy — is the contest’s oldest contestant at age 50. She’s from Lake Forest, Ill.
For surviving a season’s worth of 90-minute episodes, the winner will get $100,00 to start a fashion line, a spread in Marie Claire magazine, a $50,000 technology suite from HP and Intel and the chance to sell a collection on Piperlime.com.
Season 8 of “Project Runway” debuts at 9 p.m. ET July 29 on Lifetime.
