maggie lawson psych abc pilot 'Psych' Season 8: Maggie Lawson to continue even with 'Back in the Game' pick upABC announced its 2013-14 schedule Tuesday (May 14) and among the new comedies was “Back in the Game,” set to air Wednesday nights at 8:30 p.m., in between veteran shows “The Middle” and “Modern Family.”

But “Back in the Game” stars Maggie Lawson — also currently starring on USA’s “Psych,” which has been renewed for an eighth season. So, what does this mean for Lawson?

“We are extraordinarily proud of Maggie for landing this well-deserved
role. USA Network continues to be a place where talent is discovered and
grown, and we look forward to watching Maggie’s ongoing success on both ‘Psych’ and ‘Back in The Game,'” co-presidents of USA Network Chris McCumber and Jeff Wachtel tell Zap2it in a statement.

There is no word yet as to how the two shows will share Lawson, or if her role on “Psych” will be scaled back. But we would imagine they’ll do their best to accommodate one another.

We do know that “Psych” has an eight-episode Season 8 for sure, with five extra scriptshaving been ordered by the network. It was previously reported by Deadline that Season 8 is intended to be “Psych’s” final season, but that is not official at this time.
