“Psych” stars Dule Hill and James Roday stopped by “Today” on Wednesday (Dec. 11) to talk about the upcoming “Psych: The Musical,” which Roday says is several years in the making.

“We’ve been wanting to do it since the very beginning. It just took a really long time to write all the songs and find our courage,” says Roday.
He recently told Zap2it that “Psych” creator Steve Franks worked tirelessly to write, compose and direct the entire thing — a task of Herculean proportions — so they owe it all to him.

They guys then treat the “Today” anchors to a small snippet of the musical right there on the street — and they sound pretty good for a little impromptu performance.

“Psych: The Musical” premieres Sunday, Dec. 15 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on USA.
