Queen Elizabeth ascended to the throne at the young age of 25, and at 85, she is now the oldest British monarch ever to rule, and she remains in good health. Some expect her to remain Queen for another 10 to 15 years. Charles has been heir to the throne for 59 years now.

In other royal news, Elizabeth hosted Kate Middleton’s parents for lunch at Windsor Castle on Wednesday. Michael and Carole Middleton enjoyed a “warm” reception on their first confirmed meeting with the Queen.

King Constantine of Greece, Prince William’s godfather, recently shot down talk that William may leapfrog Prince Charles to become King before his father. “It works from father to son or mother to son and that’s how it goes.
They have to wait their turn … That’s how it should be because we are
not politicians. We don’t strive for that chair. The chair is there if
it’s needed”, he says.
