rachel maddow simpsons Rachel Maddow on 'The Simpsons' appearance: 'This is the pinnacle of my existence'

Those who tunes in to “The Simpsons” on Sunday (November 3) saw a very special guest drawn into their world, MSNBC commentator Rachel Maddow. No one was more excited about the appearance than Maddow herself.
She talked about her guest spot on the long-running animated series during an interview on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.” “I’ve had a lot had a lot of great things happen in my life. I’ve had a great life. I have the best job in the world,” she says. “But being drawn on ‘The Simpsons’? I sort of feel like, ‘I quit, I’m done.'”
In fact, Maddow was so blown away by the possibility of appearing on the show that she thought it wasn’t real, explaining, “I thought they were kidding at first or I thought it was going to be a pantheon of people you’ve never heard of on cable.” Instead, it was a very real experience.
The animated version of Maddow got her start in Springfield, alongside Kent Brockman. When she got called up to cable news, she asked him to come with but he decided to stay local. Now, years later she returns to find Brockman as bitter as ever over not making it to her level.
The only other items Rachel says she has on her bucket list are to fly around with a jet pack and be able to catch fish very easily, two things she has plenty of time to figure out with “The Simpsons” checked off.
