phaedra parks apollo nida fraud 'Real Housewives of Atlanta's' Phaedra Parks' husband Apollo Nida charged with identity theft, bank fraud

Looks like the drama of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” continues offscreen, although this time it’s one of the husbands in hot water. And the drama is of a blockbuster movie caliber, not a reality show.

“RHOA” star Phaedra Parks’ husband Apollo Nida was questioned by US Marshals on Thursday (Jan. 23) and charged with bank fraud and identity theft, Access Atlanta reports. Nida appeared before the US District Court but was granted pretrial bail.

According to the site — which obtained the complaint against Nida — the reality star was investigated by the Secret Service’s Counterfeit and U.S. Treasury Check Squad after he “created fake companies, enabling him to access databases to find individuals to rip off. He opened fake bank accounts under those real names and funneled stolen U.S. Treasury checks and auto loan proceeds into those accounts.”

So how did Nida get caught? He was named by the original target of the investigation, Gayla St. Julien, who was arrested back in September.

In custody, St. Julien “described herself as Nida’s right hand b**** in executing the legwork of his fraud schemes.” She confessed all the details of their operation, including the fact that Nida would steal people’s identities and have St. Julien open bank accounts pretending to be them.

Loyalty only goes so far, huh?

This isn’t the first time Nida’s been in trouble with the law. He was in prison from 2004-2009 for auto title fraud — which he is also now under investigation for doing again. Old habits die hard.

Nida and Parks were married in 2009 and have two children together.
