Fresh meat, err, fresh faces will be joining the women of “The Real Housewives of New York City.”
Bravo announced that Sonja Morgan (left) and Jennifer Gilbert will be recurring members of the cast for the third season of the popular “Housewives” franchise set in the Big Apple. They join the returning Countess LuAnn de Lesseps, Bethenny Frankel, Kelly Killoren Bensimon, Alex McCord, Ramona Singer and Jill Zarin.
The first of the new ladies is Sonja Morgan a jet-setting socialite and model who’s friends with the Countess. She’s the ex-wife of John Adams Morgan, great-grandson of financier J.P. Morgan. She’s currently a single mother to a 9-year-old daughter.
She’s worked as a consultant for restaurants, has produced a movie and loves “art, decorating, gardening, skiing and visiting France every chance she gets — be it for her charity work or just for pleasure.” Hmm, will she and Alex bond and speak French with each other?
The other lady is the business-minded career woman Jennifer Gilbert, who owns and runs Save the Date, a social event planning company. Other business highlights: graduated from the “Birthing of Giants” program at MIT, named Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst & Young when she was 29, and is the co-founder, co-owner of PortaMee — a baby carrying device that’s semi Baby Bjorn-ish. When she’s not all business, she entertains with her husband or hangs out with her three kids.
Production has already begun on the third season, which will air in 2010.
