Actress Reese Witherspoon and husband James Toth were arrested Friday morning — Toth for DUI, after blowing .139 on the Breathalyzer, and Witherspoon for disorderly conduct. Witherspoon reportedly got out of her vehicle at the scene and was citing her celebrity status to the police officer on site.
Witherspoon reportedly said things like, “You’re about to find out who I am” and “You are going to be on national news.” The police officer reportedly remained unflapped by said statements.
Do you think this police report will damage Witherspoon’s image? She’s been a Hollywood Golden Girl for over a decade — a solid box office draw, an Oscar winner and genuinely regarded as a nice, down-to-earth celebrity.
Does this tarnish Ms. Witherspoon pristine persona, in your eyes? Does it disappoint you to find out that in the face of a run-in with the law, she invoked the “don’t you know who I am” schtick that so many celebrities bust out — like being famous makes them above the laws of our country.
One thing’s for sure — Reese will definitely go down in the Good Mugshot Hall of Fame.
