The cast of “Glee” was slated to be part of the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Emphasis on “was.”
The show was preparing to march in the 83rd annual Thanksgiving parade after getting an invite from the department store chain. That, however, happened without NBC’s knowledge, and the network later vetoed the “Glee” cast’s appearance, TMZ reports.
No one had signed anything when the talks fell apart, but the show’s cast and crew was aware of the possible appearance and had started to work on wardrobe and choreography, according to E! Online.
NBC and FOX reps couldn’t be reached for comment. Macy’s says it doesn’t confirm talent bookings for the parade until the final lineup is set in early November.
A check of last year’s parade lineup shows balloons and floats featuring Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network characters but nothing from any competing network’s prime-time lineup. “American Idol” 2008 runner-up David Archuleta did appear, but it was six months after his time on the show ended.
