Who the heck is Gucci Westman and why do you care?
She’s a famous makeup artist who left a top position at Lancome last year. Those following her career wondered where she’d go. Launch her own line, maybe? This may still be in the works, under the auspices of Revlon.
And whether you realize it or not, you’ve already seen her work on her celebrity pals Jennifer Aniston, Julianne Moore, Gwyneth Paltrow, Cameron Diaz and Drew Barrymore.
She got her start doing makeup for films. Remember Diaz’s make-under ad big fuzzy wig in "Being John Malkovich?" Hey, it’s hard to make a beautiful actress look that homely!
She’s also made up faces in Gap and Ralph Lauren ads and has worked with top photogs Mario Testino and Annie Leibovitz.
And her husband David Neville is the co-designer of the effortless cool men’s and women’s line, Rag and Bone. The couple’s first collaboration: Dashel David Neville, a son who was born in April 2007.
Expect to see more of Gucci’s work on Revlon’s "brand ambassadors" ("spokesmodel" is so last decade) Halle Berry, Beau Garrett, Jessica Alba and Elle Macpherson. I wouldn’t be surprised if Revlon puts her to work on famous faces for some big red carpets too.
Especially during the 2009 awards season.
