Rihanna had a brush with disaster at her hotel in London when a fire broke out in an elevator shaft. The singer was staying at the Corinthia Hotel in Whitehall when she was evacuated around 6 in the morning.
According to Metro, 300 guests at the hotel had to stand outside in the cold, but Rihanna took shelter in the back of a taxi. She even tweeted from the road, writing, “Roamin da streets since 6am! Fyah in da telly
A hotel spokesman tells Metro, “At approximately 6.30 a.m., one of the service elevator motors burnt out. There
was a slight discharge of smoke and because of our robust fire
management policy, the alarms were activated and a full evacuation of
the building was carried out.”
Nobody was injured in the incident.
